I'mmm Baaaaack!

THE MATTRESS

The Hubby didn't wake up with a backache! Yeah! He usually does. He slept well. Me? Oh, well, I need a little time to get used to it. It's just me. I DID sleep more comfortably than I did on the mattress we HAD. And much better than the Sleep Number Bed. Dad still loves his, by the way. Scott even took a nap yesterday. He had a couple of hours between the mattress arrival and the cat pick-up, so he took a little cat nap. Ha. He loves his new mattress.

They brought the wrong foundation. The mattress is....fourteen inches high. To the edge. The top is actually a bit higher. And the foundation is five inches. Put that on top of our Ethan Allen bedframe and the whole thing is like thirty-seven inches off the floor! My feet are like 6-8 inches off the floor when I sit on the edge of the bed! Well, they were supposed to bring the low-profile foundation with it. It is two inches lower. They didn't. We ended up with the regular one. Even though Scott talked to the Aireloom rep beforehand, called and left the message for the saleslady and she called him to confirm. It didn't say low-profile on the order form. So, they are going to order it now. So they have to come back out here. Bummer for them.

Scott is evil. The delivery guy, when he is getting ready to drag the old mattress out, takes a blade and slices the side of it, so he can put his hand in and haul it out. After he slices it open, Scott says, "Oh. We were going to keep the old one." He said the guy turned white. I couldn't do that with a straight face. The Hubby can.

THE KITTY

He is so cute! The girls spent the night looking after him. Rebekah says, "He is SOOOO CUUUUUUTE! He is just a baby!" She likes anything that is a baby. Won't eat baby carrots. You know, 'cuz they are babies. Loves everything tiny. She just adores the kitty.

Jess is really good with the kitty. She is able to pick him up and he doesn't have a problem with that at all. He is very calm and well behaved. She is learning to watch him and follow after him to be sure he doesn't scratch the furniture or anything.

We are going to have somewhat of a transition period, but you know, when you get a new puppy, they have accidents and stuff, too, so this is not surprising.

Should be interesting...

Sounds like the bed will work out -if Scott sleeps well, so will you.
Re the kitten - Rosemary's suggestion to get a scratching post was right-on. First thing Samantha does when she gets up is head for hers, hasn't bothered our furniture at all. Lastly, pictures of your new baby - please.

And the name of the baby??? Accidents??? Litter box? You put kitty in and go scratch with your hand and then kitty gets the idea....eventually. Inside or outside baby? I love him already.
